Kid-tested, mother-approved

I could and should write all about the fun day I had, but I’m sleepy and have a book to read. Also, tonight is apparently the season premiere of Saturday Night Live.

I do want to mention that I got mail today from home! This is exciting, because I have received so little mail in my post office box that I actually forgot the number. I had to ask Sunil, a kind postal worker, to look me up. He did, told me I have a nice driver’s license photo (why, thank you), and hollered, “Amanda…you have mail!” announcer-style.

The box had cookies, some fruit roll-ups, a box of Kix cereal, and a note from my mom. Awww. I ate a whole bag of cookies waiting for my entourage to arrive in my neighborhood. There’s a whole other blog entry coming soon about that.

If you’re wondering why I received Kix cereal all the way from Texas, you can stop now. I have never seen Kix cereal in NYC. Ever. I’ll admit I haven’t scoured every cereal aisle in every grocery store looking for it, but I’ve been to enough.  A girl has got to get her Kix somehow.
