Not to be missed

Being here isn’t just about making new connections. It’s also about trying to maintain old ones, despite the distance. This isn’t easy and I miss a lot of the people I used to see daily or at least more regularly than I do now.

My best friend from my junior year of high school, whom I will now refer to as my current friend, Aaron, was in NYC for the last few days for a work-related conference. He works in theatre, so what better place to see a lot of dance and dance and African dance? Aaron was a bit disappointed by the limited acts at the showcase he attended, but extremely impressed by Lombardi’s pizza. (I’d have disowned him if he weren’t).

I only had a few hours with Aaron today, and too much of this time consisted of waiting for subways. Oh, well. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing him for a bit. Now I am a bit inebriated from a martini at the Hilton, so I think I will attempt to read some fine work of literature or something. Goodnight.
