The week sped by with unrivaled velocity and this blog was left in the dust. On the back burner. [Insert another figure of speech here.]
In an homage to my alma mater, I present a quick review of the week thus far.
HORNS UP:
*Cade and I finding a store in NYC - in Soho of all places - that sells Venus Flytraps. I loves me some carnivorous plants.
*Eating chicken quesadillas at Uncle Nick’s with Nick. Telltale NYC/Greek touch: pitas replace tortillas.
*After finding the source for all things Venus Flytrap, Cade and I filled our traps at Lombardi’s. (He liked it, so we’re still friends).
*Recent communications with two friends from college. I tend to lose touch with people if I don’t see them on a regular basis, so it’s good to know I can maintain long-distance friendships…at the moment.
*Mr. Chen buying me lunch in appreciation of my editing all of his grad school papers. I’d like an honorary Master’s in Mathematics, but a fajita plate will suffice.
*The paper chase that is applying to graduate school.
*Vacillating weather. I want it to be warm or cold already - not cold one day, warm the next. My chapped lips cannot handle Mother Nature’s indecision.
*Grammatical atrocities committed daily at I.S. 666. One student explaining to his teacher why he has food in class post-lunch: “I ain’t eat!” He ain’t learn, neither.
*An undeniable need for more sleep coupled with an inability to nap or go to bed early.
*Having to substitute teach on Tuesday. The experience wasn’t horrible, but I’m uncomfortable being thrown into a classroom of a teacher I don’t know with students I don’t know.

As a former Longhorn, I can appreciate your “horns down.” Nice news conrtrasting. Girl, you are hilarious!
