Amp’d Mobile Bus Commercial

l

This commercial intrigues me for a few reasons. First, I rely on public transportation, so the concept is interesting. Second, I like pondering the use of sex, race, and class in the ad. Why does a white guy fight a black guy? Why does a black girl have to “shake [her] junk”?

Amp’d Mobile has even racier ads wherein a maid discovers a seeminly dead rock star and a hooker tries to revive a dying senator in a seedy hotel room. More interesting to me is the fact that the website supposedly compares phones to other everyday objects to show how small they are. Not so novel, right? But hold on. It uses a bracelet, a credit card, and even a condom.
