At school, teachers send anecdotals via email throughout the day. It keeps everyone informed of student behavior and reminds me that working with middle schoolers isn’t so different from working with say, farm animals or people in a psych ward.
Today in class Kerry was sticking his fingers up his nose, hacking up loogies and letting them run on his lips, and buttoning his shirt as high as it would go and pretending to choke. He was making his table laugh and the table next to him. He was told by me several times to stop playing, stop distracting others, and to stop goofing off. I told him the only thing he should be doing is paying attention to the lesson. He looked right at me and continued his antics.

Middle schooler are weird little creatures.I once watched a kid crumble the eraser on his pencil and than proceed to sniff it up his nose.
