1. Anna Nicole Smith died, and I’m embarrassed to say I was in my classroom after school with a co-worker when I found out. “Ohmigod! Anna Nicole Smith is dead!” I exclaimed. I never was a fan of the trainwreck, but wow, I can’t stop sympathizing.
The kids had newspapers during independent reading time in class today, and I wrote some vocabulary words from the Anna Nicole Smith article on the board. I taught my students the words “flamboyant,” “statuesque,” “autopsy,” and “turbulent.”
I opted not to explain “buxom.”
2. On my way to the radio station downtown last night, I saw Tim Gunn of Project Runway advisor fame! He was on the 1 train and got off at 14th Street. Gunn is taller than I’d realized and the epitome of dapper. He smirked and stood the whole ride, probably reciting witty French aphorisms in his head.
3. My radio debut: At one point I wore a tiara, and I said the word “farted” on air. My parents were real proud, ya’ll.
Seriously, though, the people were nice and down to earth. While I didn’t clam up, I was quietly observing the whole time, waiting to be pulled into conversation. Fortunately, that happened often enough. I’d do it again, and I know I’d feel more outgoing.
4. After much vacillation and procrastination, I’ve decided to join Cade for a weekend in Penn to the Sylvania. I want to be freezing and lazy someplace where it’s cleaner, I suppose.
Happy Weekend!

Oh puhlease! The girl OD’d, let her RIP. Millions of people die everyday from starvation and no word on that. americans are so shallow one wonders how it’s a super power….oh wait, it’s the smart immigrants in silicon valley who are doing all the work.
Please post some pictures of the so-called suburban “canyon sidewalks” that I’m reading about.
1 person is a tragedy; 1 million people are a statistic.
Get off her case for mentioning a news item and how it affected her on her blog. And really to do think Church of celebrity is only worshipped in America? To quote you “Oh puhlease!”
how can you say you sympathized when you call he a trainwreck?
hypocrite might be a good vocabulary word for you to teach your students.
Anna Nicole Smith was a trainwreck. Her life was turbulent and soap operatic, and that explains why she has received the amount of media attention she has. I have no qualms about believing this, but also feeling sorry for the child she has left behind.
All of these people who keep saying “get over it” and “just stop talking about it” can’t stop talking about how they want us to stop talking about it.
If people want to feel sorry for her, go right ahead. She was a human being.

her life was her life…
to call it a trainwreck or any wreck is saying that you know what is right or wrong for another person, and you don’t!
your standards…
oh wait, shouldn’t a well educated and high class girl from texas know that…
I deign to say that Trimspa and most of the late Anna Nicole’s wardrobe is wrong for not just another person, but EVERY person.
“standards…”
