I saw this ad on Craigslist last week. This person is certainly not the sharpest blade in the draw (sic) or crayon in the box, but the third sentence made me laugh out loud:
I love to write and I would like to write some more! However, I am not the sharpest blade in the knife draw! Regarded as borderline retarded by many of my catholic school teachers, my grammar is horrendous! I am looking for stable confident writer with a sense of style, someone who I can email or meet with to just learn to write in a to the point manner. I like to write about what I know the best, which is home improvements and cooking. I would also like the oppurtunity to learn article writing from a pro. I am just looking for a person with a sense of humor that i can consult on the phone and email my work to, someone who would be insulted if I didnt learn the material. I also have a blog that I practice on, I hope to turn it into a website at some point. I feel now that I want to learn non-fiction more than copy-writing. I want to put my pen to work for moral causes as well as for business. I wanted to take some classes at Gotham, maybe I will some day, however I live in the Hampton’s and I work most weekends so it’s difficult. I am going to give CL a chance first. Perhaps I can find someout there who can spare 30 min’s a week to look at my materials and make some reccomendations. Thanks for reading-
