The book I’m in hits bookstores tomorrow. It’s been on sale at Amazon.com since Friday, and I’ve had my copy for a few weeks now. Unfortunately, my story has a typo in it from an editor’s careless verb tense change. Grrr! It’s really a small mistake, but it’s all I can see - an oozing zit on my writing credentials. I haven’t read the entire book, but I’ve noticed other typos. I plan to email some higher-ups and offer my editing services (for a handsome sum) on future projects.
I originally thought I’d drop the book title, but now I feel like of weird about that. Should you be curious, you can email me for more information. Rest assured it will be in the new releases section of most bookstores.

congrats! which book is this?
P.S. you need to blog more! love your writing!
Can you email me the book name? I’d like to get it.
Don’t fret about the typo. It happens all the time. Two of the last three pieces I had published had typos. Editors like to feel like they are vital to the piece even if it is written flawlessly. The good ones know when to leave well enough alone; the insecure ones like to “fix” things that often drive the writers crazy. Enjoy your success. And don’t include “but this one has a typo” on you c.v.!
Thanks for your good wishes, everybody!
I told one of the kids I tutor about the typo and how it is coincidentally, the kind of typo she always makes in her writing. She replied, “Oh… I do very bad things. I’m sorry.” Blasted typos!
which book? I’d like to read it.
You gotta email if you’re curious, guys and gals.
