Too much Lysol in this town

Having spent the long weekend in D.C., I am so glad to be back in New York. No offense if you live in that area - I reunited with a college friend who does and she is definitely cool by me.

But D.C. is just too clean for me, with way too many cars and not enough attitude. Also, you have to swipe in and out of the Metro, on which no one travels while eating fried chicken, drinking a beer, or performing in a mariachi band.

NYC surely has more edge to it compared to Washington D.D. Although I do have this one memory from D.C. having stood on a dead rat which I didn’t realize before my brother kindly pointed it out to me. I screamed so loud that I got the corner patrol interested in my suspicious behavior.

There are definitely seedier areas than the one in which I spent most of my time. Cade and I went out one night and saw some shady characters and maybe a drug deal. It felt like home. :)
