I was walking along Central Park North yesterday when I did a double take.
“Is that what I think it is?”
Dodging livery cabs and a garbage truck, I brazenly dashed across the street.
“Ohmigod! It is!”
The man with the leash was walking a cat.
I asked if I could take a picture. He happily obliged and told Frisky to sit. She did.
Man and cat took off a few minutes later, walking side by side. It made my day.

i’m not sure how you feel about stuffwhitepeoplelike, but i think most, if not all, applies to you. and i think that’s a good thing. middle-class liberalism is not dead, it’s certainly not creative, it’s more…ubiquitous. move out of new york, go somewhere down under, do something else. everyone is having the same experience you are - complete with the hackneyed twenty-something narcissism - but you’re a talented writer, much too talented for the constant quips, ironic pictures, and tutoring. do people back home look at you and say things like ‘i could never do it. i don’t know how you do?’ do you look at yourself and say, ‘my story is worth telling?’ maybe it is, but go tell someone else’s. yours is everywhere.
i totally disagree with mr/mrs/ms smarty pants’s entry…i love this entry and i totally love the DMB song in the background. love it.
Oh come on. Dave Matthews Band in the background? That is some stuff this white person does not like.
