Family bladders

Jing and I are discussing an article we read together about a school suspending a high schooler over something she wrote about her teacher on Facebook. Jing’s immediate reaction is that it was unfair, and that the student’s freedom of speech was violated. I ask her to imagine if she were in a cyberbullying situation that started on the Internet and greatly affected her life at school.

Me: Imagine I’m in your class and we’re friends, but then I get mad at you for some reason. I put all this bad stuff about you on Facebook, where the whole school can go and read it. And they do. I tell your secrets and I make up stuff. It damages your reputation, and everyone talks about it at school and makes your life miserable. Should the school get involved and punish me?

Jing: No. I would have to get revenge myself.

Me: How?

Jing: I would get a bucket of something disgusting - poop, vomit, or pee - and pour it on you at school. I would pour it on everyone at school who made fun of me.

Me: [laughing] Where would you get so much of it?

Jing: Family pee.
