A call for submission ideas

Using blogging and Twitter for crowdsourcing has proven to be pretty effective.

A few weeks ago, I asked New Yorkers where to find affordable figs and got an answer. Then I asked about blog hosting options and got more answers.

It won’t be long before I’m asking the Internet at large to make me a sandwich.

And I appreciate it! Thanks in advance (and retroactively) for helping me out.

Here’s a question for you, dear readers:

Do you know of any online or offline publications where I should submit my writing? I don’t mean staffed blogs, like those at Gawker Media. Maybe smaller blogs? Maybe small online or offline newspapers and magazines? I have a list of some I’ve already considered and to which I’ve submitted. But I’m sure you know something I don’t. Please share!

An important question: Are you looking to be paid for your submissions?

For the most part, I do want to be paid. But I’ll also write for free if the publication is reputable and looks good on my freelance resume.
