Not getting a new clue

I’ve mentioned a few times that I have trouble sleeping, right?

It’s not that I go days without sleeping and become a shell of a human being.

I go days without sleeping well and become a shell of a human being.

There’s a difference.

It’s been another one of those weeks that I should’ve been taking melatonin or a prescription sleep aid. Or eating turkey and drinking warm milk as I watch C-SPAN.

As soon as I get a couple of spare hours, I intend to sleep like a rock or a baby, whichever comes first.

Speaking of babies, I saw this headline and picture on the Yahoo! homepage the other day. It accompanied an article about SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). Did you know it’s the leading cause of death in babies between one month and one year old?

It’s true. I learned that when I read the whole page, but first I just looked at the caption and picture.

When I saw the nefarious, little grin on that baby, I knew what was up.

That baby is the clue! He or she is the reason the other babies are dying.

Those clenched fists just scream aggression, violence, and “I’ll fool them into thinking this is some ’syndrome,’ bwahahaha!”

Just me?

So I read the article.

I jumped to the wrong conclusion.

Do not put your baby down to sleep on his or her back.

But just to be safe, I wouldn’t trust that baby in the picture, either.
